When you are inside: big vehicles (bus, train, plane, subway) and bikes → on the / on my. Cars and taxis → in the / in a. by bus = how you travel · on the bus = where you are now
Pattern: on the bus / train / plane / my bike · in the car / a taxi
Example: I'm on the train now.
