One step at a timeRules
Rule 1: The pattern
Use am / is / are that matches the subject. After going to, the verb is always in its base form.
Pattern: I am / he, she, it is / you, we, they are + going to + base verb
Example: She is going to ride her new bike.
Example: We are going to plant a tree.
Rule 2: Plans
Use going to for things we have already decided to do. Clues: tomorrow, next week, this summer, on Saturday.
Example: My family is going to visit Antalya this summer.
Example: I'm going to learn the guitar next year.
Rule 3: Predictions with evidence
When we can see that something is about to happen, we use going to.
Example: Watch out! That vase is going to fall!
Example: Look at the sky. It's going to be a sunny day.
