• Past perfect continuous

  o ana kadar süren etkinlik; geçmişteki olay (V2)

  Kalıp: Özne + had been + fiil + -ing

  Örnek: We had been walking for two hours when we finally saw the lake.

  Örnek: She had been practicing for months before the concert.

• Formül

  Olumlu: They had been waiting for an hour. · Olumsuz: We hadn't been waiting long when the bus came. · Soru: Had you been waiting long? · Kısa cevap: Yes, I had. / No, I hadn't.

  Önce uzun süren yürüyüş, sonra gölü görmek.

  Örnek: We had been walking for two hours when we saw the lake. (Gölü gördüğümüzde iki saattir yürüyorduk.)

  Örnek: The streets were wet because it had been raining. (Sokaklar ıslaktı, çünkü yağmur yağmıştı.)
