  Türkçe: isim + ek (masa-da). İngilizce: edat + isim (on the table).

  Örnek: on the table (masada)

  Örnek: to school (okula)

• Yer: in, on, at

  in = içinde (in the box, in Ankara). on = üstünde, bir yüzeyde (on the table, on the wall). at = bir noktada (at the door, at the bus stop, at school).

• Zaman: in, on, at

  Saat: The movie starts at 7 o'clock. · Gün, tarih: My birthday is on Friday. · Ay, yıl, mevsim: We go camping in July. · Gün bölümü: I read in the evening.

• Yer bildiren edatlar

  under = altında. Edat ismin önünde, Türkçedeki “altında” ise sonda.

  Örnek: The cat is sleeping under the bed. (Kedi yatağın altında uyuyor.)

  Örnek: The bakery is next to the bank. (Fırın bankanın yanında.)

• Hareket: to, into, out of

  to = -e (yön).

  Örnek: We walk to school every day. (Her gün okula yürürüz.)

  Örnek: The frog jumped into the pond. (Kurbağa gölete atladı.)

  at home, at school deriz ama go home (to yok!): I go to school at 8, and I go home at 4.
