  Daha (kısa sıfat): A cheetah is faster than a lion. · Daha (uzun sıfat): This puzzle is more difficult than that one. · En (kısa sıfat): Ali is the youngest in our family. · En (uzun sıfat): This is the most beautiful park in the city. · Eşit: My bag is as heavy as yours. · Eşit değil: Today is not as hot as yesterday.

• Kısa mı, uzun mu?

  Tek heceli sıfatlar -er / -est alır: tall → taller → the tallest. Yazıma dikkat: big → bigger, nice → nicer, happy → happier. Çoğu iki ve daha çok heceli sıfat more / the most alır: more interesting.

• Renkli örnekler

  Türkçede önce “-den”, sonra sıfat; İngilizcede önce sıfat (-er), sonra than.

  Örnek: Your room is bigger than mine. (Senin odan benimkinden daha büyük.)

  Örnek: Soccer is more popular than basketball in Turkey. (Türkiye'de futbol basketboldan daha popüler.)

• Türkçe karşılıklar

  -den daha … = -er than …

  Örnek: An elephant is bigger than a horse. (Fil attan daha büyüktür.)

  Örnek: Can is the tallest student in the class. (Sınıfın en uzun öğrencisi Can.)

• İpucu

  more ile -er birlikte kullanılmaz: “more bigger” yanlış, bigger doğru. Bir de “then” değil, than yazılır!
