Kurallar

• Kural 1: genel → article yok

  Bir şeyden genel olarak (bütün köpekler, her tür süt) bahsederken çoğul ya da sayılamayan isim tek başına kullanılır.

  Kalıp: çoğul / sayılamayan isim (the yok)

  Örnek: Cats love fish. (Kediler balığa bayılır.)

  Örnek: Water is important for life. (Su yaşam için önemlidir.)

• Kural 2: belirli → the

  Hangisini kastettiğimiz belliyse (bu masadaki, dün aldığım, daha önce söylenen) the kullanırız.

  Örnek: The cats next door are loud. (Yan evdeki kediler gürültücü.)

  Örnek: Where is the water I put here? (Buraya koyduğum su nerede?)

• Kural 3: tek olan şeyler → the

  Dünyada tek olan şeyler the alır: the sun, the moon, the sky, the world, the internet. Okyanus ve nehir adları da: the Pacific Ocean, the Nile.

  Örnek: The moon goes around the Earth. (Ay Dünya'nın etrafında döner.)

  Örnek: Birds fly in the sky. (Kuşlar gökyüzünde uçar.)

• Kural 4: article almayanlar

  Öğünler, sporlar, okul dersleri, diller, çoğu ülke ve şehir, ay ve gün adları article almaz. Ama çalgılar the alır!

  Örnek: We have lunch at noon and play soccer after that. (Öğlen yemek yer, sonra futbol oynarız.)

  Örnek: She likes math, but she loves playing the guitar. (Matematiği sever ama gitar çalmaya bayılır.)

Sık yapılan hatalar

• The dogs are loyal animals. → Dogs are loyal animals.

  Genel konuşuyoruz → article yok.

• I love the nature. → I love nature.

  nature genel anlamda the almaz.

• I go to the school by the bus. → I go to school by bus.

  Sabit kalıplar: go to school, by bus.
